Hugo Ferreira is the Senior Director of AI Research at Feedzai, where he leads teams developing machine learning solutions for financial crime prevention, including fraud detection and anti-money laundering. He joined Feedzai in 2018 as a data scientist, working with some of the world's biggest financial institutions to develop AI models for fraud detection. He later transitioned to his current director-level role in the Research organization, publishing research at top ML venues. Before entering the industry, he pursued postdoctoral research in mathematical and theoretical physics. Hugo is also an instructor at the Lisbon Data Science Academy and a professor in the Executive Master in Business Analytics and AI at the Porto Business School (University of Porto).
